PBPA 2222 on Range Rover Sport

Range Rover Sport Forged Wheels

PBPA 2222 on Range Rover Sport, Gloss Black, 22"

The Range Rover Sport is one of the most-built vehicles in our gallery, and it's easy to see why: it rewards a wheel that's engineered properly rather than simply styled.

We've built across the chassis lineage, from the L320 through the L494 to the current L461. Our gallery includes a PBPA 2222 monoblock on a Range Rover Sport SVR, and a PBF 9 on an L494 in satin black, two different generations, two different briefs, both forged and both engineered in the UK to clear the relevant brake packages and exceed the OEM load rating.

Whether you call it the Range Rover Sport, the RR Sport, or simply the RRS, the principle is the same: every set is made to order. We don't hold stock. Each wheel is forged, finished and inspected for your specific car and your specific generation, which means the fitment, the offset and the load rating are right before anything ships.

If you're considering a forged set for your Range Rover Sport, the starting point is a conversation about the car, the way you use it, and the look you're after.

Sizing guide

The Range Rover Sport leaves the factory on wheels up to 23", which sets the ceiling, but the right size for your car depends on how you use it. Because every PB Forged set is made to order, this is a decision we make with you, not a choice from a fixed menu.

The case for 22". Twenty-two inches is the daily-driver sweet spot on the RR Sport. The extra sidewall over a 23" tyre gives more cushion against UK road surfaces, potholes, sharp kerbs, motorway expansion joints, and meaningfully lowers the risk of buckling a wheel or splitting a tyre. Tyre replacement is typically 30-40% cheaper than the 23" equivalent, and the choice of quality tyres is wider. For a Sport that does the school run, the motorway miles and the occasional tow, 22" is usually the sensible default. Our gallery PBPA 2222, a monoblock on an SVR, runs 22" for exactly these reasons.

The case for 23". Twenty-three inches is about stance. The reduced sidewall and tighter arch gap give the car a more purposeful, flush look that suits a show build or a Sport used mainly on good roads. You trade a little ride comfort and accept higher tyre costs, but the visual payoff is real. The PBF 9 on the L494 in our gallery is a 23" set built for precisely that brief.

The hard constraint. Whatever the size, the wheel has to clear the brakes. On the SVR and SV variants the brake package sets a practical minimum, which we confirm against your exact car at the engineering stage, so the look never compromises the stop.

Because we forge to order. You're not choosing from a shelf of two sizes. We work through diameter, width, offset and finish together, against your generation (L320, L494 or L461), your brake setup, and how you actually use the car. Start with a conversation and we'll spec from there.

Frequently asked

Will these clear the Range Rover Sport SVR brake calipers?
Yes. We confirm brake clearance at the consultation stage as part of the fitment review, every PB Forged wheel for the SVR is engineered to clear the carbon ceramic and steel brake packages without spacers. We've built for the L494 SVR on a 22" monoblock setup (the PBPA 2222 in our gallery is exactly this fitment). If your SVR has aftermarket brakes, send the spec at order and we'll validate clearance before forging.
Range Rover Sport 22" vs 23", which is right for daily driving?
Both work, but they trade differently. 22" is the daily sweet spot: more sidewall, better ride quality on UK roads, lower tyre replacement cost (typically 30-40% less than 23"), and lower risk of kerb or pothole damage. 23" delivers more visual presence, flush fitment, tighter wheel arch gap, but you give up some ride comfort and tyre cost goes up. Most of our RR Sport customers choose 22" for everyday cars and 23" for show or weekend builds. If you tow or drive on poor roads, default to 22".
Do you make wheels for the L320 (first-generation Range Rover Sport)?
Yes. The L320 is fully supported, sizes 20"/21"/22", appropriate offsets, and we can match either the original Supercharged style or build something entirely bespoke. The L320 is increasingly a modern-classic in this segment, and we've found that owners restoring or refreshing one often want a wheel that respects the era rather than trying to make an L320 look like an L461. Tell us your direction at consultation.
What's the load rating, will these handle a fully loaded RRS?
Every PB Forged wheel is engineered to exceed the OEM load rating for the vehicle it's specified for. For Range Rover Sport that means we engineer above the JLR-published GVWR, including roof load, towing nose load, and full passenger plus luggage. The forging process produces a denser, stronger grain structure than cast wheels, so we typically achieve the rating at lower weight. If you have a specific use case (heavy trailer, frequent towing, off-road), flag it at consultation and we'll spec accordingly.
Where are PB Forged wheels manufactured?
Every PB Forged wheel is engineered in the UK, design, fitment validation, structural analysis and quality specification all happen in-house. The forging itself is routed to the partner facility best suited to the specific project: UK, US, or Taiwan, depending on construction complexity, finish requirements, and the tolerances the build demands. The routing decision is part of the engineering brief, each commission goes to the manufacturer that will deliver the best wheel for that build, not a default supply chain.
How long is the lead time?
Our wheels are made to order, with a typical lead time of 6 to 8 weeks from order confirmation to delivery. This isn't pulled-from-stock, each set is forged, finished and inspected specifically for your car. The window covers engineering review (we validate fitment for your exact chassis and brake setup), forging, finishing in your chosen specification, and final UK quality control before despatch. If you have a fixed deadline (car show, event, build deadline), tell us at the consultation stage and we'll confirm whether the window can compress.
