The Mercedes G 580 EQ is the all-electric G-Wagen, and it's a genuinely different engineering problem to the petrol G63. The 600kg battery pack adds load, changes brake clearance, and shifts weight distribution in ways the combustion-car spec doesn't account for.

We've already built for it, a PB 601 M monoblock in gloss black at 23", which means we've done the work of understanding the platform rather than assuming the G63 spec carries over. It doesn't.

The electric G-Class is early in its life, and demand for wheels engineered specifically for it will grow as the cars reach owners. We're ready for that: every set is engineered in the UK and made to order, forged and finished for the specific vehicle.

Will they fit your Mercedes G 580 EQ?

The electric G keeps the G-Class hub and adds a significant amount of weight, which moves load rating ahead of styling in the build order. Every PB Forged set is made to order, so the structure is specified to the car.

Fitment. 5x130 on an 84.1mm centre bore, M14x1.5. Factory sizing is 18x7.5J ET43 and 20x8.5J ET32, square.

18 inch and 20 inch. The 18 inch fitment exists for a reason on this car: more sidewall, more compliance and better off-road capability on a vehicle that is heavier than a G63. Twenty inch is the road-biased choice and is where most styling briefs start.

The trap. It shares the 84.1mm bore and 5x130 pattern with the G63, so G63 wheels fit physically. They were not rated for this kerb weight. Load rating is invisible on a wheel and decisive in use. We specify it against your actual gross axle weight.

Can I use G63 wheels on a G 580 EQ?

They fit physically, since both are 5x130 on an 84.1mm centre bore with M14x1.5 bolts. The problem is load rating: the electric G is heavier than a G63 and a wheel rated for the V8 car is not automatically rated for it. Load rating is invisible on a finished wheel, so we specify it against your actual gross axle weight rather than against the bolt pattern.

Why does nothing else from the Mercedes range fit?

Because the G-Class hub is unlike the rest of the marque. It runs an 84.1mm centre bore where almost everything else Mercedes builds is 66.6mm, on a 5x130 pattern it shares with Porsche and Bentley rather than with any other Mercedes. Nothing from a C63, E63 or S-Class centres on it at all.

What does the G 580 run from the factory?

18x7.5J at ET43 and 20x8.5J at ET32, square. The 18 inch fitment exists for a reason on this car: more sidewall, more compliance and better capability off road on a vehicle heavier than a G63. Twenty is the road-biased choice and where most styling briefs start.

Does the extra weight change what construction you recommend?

Yes. The structure is sized to the axle weight first and the look second, which usually points to monoblock or a well-engineered two-piece rather than a deep three-piece with more joints in the load path. If a deeper lip is the point we will build it and tell you what it costs you structurally.

Will these clear the G 580's brake package?

Yes, clearance is validated against your exact configuration before anything is forged. If the vehicle has had a brake upgrade fitted, send the spec at consultation and we re-validate.

How long is the lead time?
