PBF 4 on VW Transporter

VW Transporter Forged Wheels

PBF 4 on VW Transporter, Brushed Clear Silver, 20"

Most Transporters don't need a forged wheel. But the high-end VW Transporter conversion is a different vehicle entirely, and it's the one we build for.

If you're commissioning a Sportline, or a fully converted T6 or T6.1, the kind of build where the interior, paint and suspension are all specified to a level most vans never see, stock alloys are the part that lets the rest down. Our gallery has two Transporter builds: a PBF 4 monoblock in brushed clear silver and a PB 101 2-piece in satin black, both forged and both made for that calibre of build.

Every set is engineered in the UK and made to order. Each wheel is load-rated to handle a fully converted van's weight, forged and finished for your specific vehicle, and inspected before it ships.

If you're building a Transporter at that level, talk to us, this is exactly the bespoke work we do, and exactly the buyer we make it for.

Frequently asked

Why would I buy a £4,000 forged wheel for a Transporter when I can buy a 20" alloy for £600?
Honest answer: most Transporter buyers shouldn't. PB Forged is for the £80k+ Sportline conversion or the bespoke high-end T6.1 lifestyle build, the buyer who is investing in everything else on the van (interior, audio, paint, suspension) at a level where mass-market stock alloys would visually let the build down. If you're driving a working panel van or a lightly-modified day van, a quality cast alloy from Wolfrace or Elite is the right product. If you're commissioning something at the show-build or six-figure conversion level, forged becomes the appropriate spec.
Will forged wheels handle the load of a fully-converted Transporter?
Yes, comfortably. Every PB Forged wheel is engineered to exceed the OEM load rating for the vehicle, for the T6 / T6.1 that includes the upper GVWR ratings used for full conversions. The forging process produces a denser, stronger grain structure than cast wheels, so we typically achieve the rating at lower weight. Tell us the converted weight at consultation if you're on a heavy build and we'll spec accordingly.
What's the difference between the PBF 4 monoblock and the PB 101 2-piece in your Transporter gallery?
The PBF 4 is a single-piece forged construction, lighter, structurally simpler, and the cleanest visual proposition. The PB 101 is a 2-piece modular, a forged centre bolted to a forged outer barrel, giving you finish flexibility (centre and barrel can carry different colours or treatments) and slightly more dish depth. For most T6 daily-conversion builds, the PBF 4 monoblock is the right default. For show-focused or finish-heavy builds, the PB 101 gives you more design options.
Where are PB Forged wheels manufactured?
Every PB Forged wheel is engineered in the UK, design, fitment validation, structural analysis and quality specification all happen in-house. The forging itself is routed to the partner facility best suited to the specific project: UK, US, or Taiwan, depending on construction complexity, finish requirements, and the tolerances the build demands. The routing decision is part of the engineering brief, each commission goes to the manufacturer that will deliver the best wheel for that build, not a default supply chain.
How long is the lead time?
Our wheels are made to order, with a typical lead time of 6 to 8 weeks from order confirmation to delivery. This isn't pulled-from-stock, each set is forged, finished and inspected specifically for your van. The window covers engineering review (we validate fitment for your exact chassis), forging, finishing in your chosen specification, and final UK quality control before despatch. If you have a fixed deadline (van show, conversion handover, event), tell us at the consultation stage and we'll confirm whether the window can compress.
